Congrats to Jens for his new paper on ductile ultra-strong polymer-derived nanoceramics, published in Matter. These materials exhibit strength as high as 7 GPa and remarkable ductility, with strain to failure in excess of 20%. These exceptional properties remain unchanged up to very large sample sizes (~20 microns).
